Statement of Movement of Afghanistan Women in Exile in Solidarity and Support for the Green Party of Afghanistan in Exile

Today, we have come together to express our support for the principles and policies of the Green Party of Afghanistan in Exile and to reaffirm, with a unified voice, our shared commitment to democracy, human rights, social justice, environmental sustainability, and a peaceful future for Afghanistan. Afghanistan is currently facing one of the most challenging periods in its contemporary history. Women and girls continue to be deprived of many of their fundamental rights and freedoms. Ethnic and religious minorities, as well as individuals expressing diverse views, continue to face discrimination and restrictions. The country is experiencing a severe economic crisis, widespread poverty, and an ongoing humanitarian emergency. At the same time, Afghanistan's environment, natural resources, water reserves, forests, and agricultural lands are increasingly threatened by environmental degradation and climate-related challenges.
